Hello Guys, I installed Windows 7 and i got the yellow sign on my ethernet controller (device manager). So i downloaded the driver from the Asus Website for the Asus H97-plus motherboard.

So I have spent today building my new skylake rig -

i7 6700k

16gb 2666MHz ram

Asus Z170-a mobo

Several SSDs and HDDs of varying makes and sizes

EVGA 980 ti SC ACX2.0

EVGA 850 G2

Corsair air 540 case

The issue I'm having is that the ethernet adapter wont start. Gives me error code 10, sometimes it will install the drivers but most of the time it runs into this error.

EDIT: I got it fixed! Go into your bios - advanced - onboard devices - CSM - boot from network - ignore.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, I have tried drivers from the mobo disk, Asus website and microsoft website. I've tried using windows update (that doesn't ever work). I have completely uninstalled the ethernet adapter, told windows not to auto-install and rebooted without the cable plugged in and still nothing. The port itself reacts fine to the cable being plugged in (green light next to the port comes on very happily.) I have tried different cables and the same cables with my laptop so I can rule that out as being the problem.

So now I'm at a bit of a loss. I've just built a kick ass, £1,300 PC and I can't get the ethernet port to work. If anybody has any suggestions I will be forever grateful.
