Clicking 'Download' only takes me to the 'here's how to install an app!' page, what's going on?
I'm trying to download a few books to my laptop for offline listening. I've installed the current versions of both Audible Download Manager and AudibleManager. I've gone through the device activation process for both, but I also can't find anywhere that lists my activated devices.
How Do I Download Audible Books Into Itunes
When I visit my Library and try to download any book using the 'Download' button, no download begins. Instead, I am taken to the list of apps to use. I do not want to use an app. I want to download actual files to my PC and listen to them offline. I remember doing this a few years ago on another PC and didn't have a single problem with it.
This happens in every browser I have installed, with and without extensions enabled. This tells me it's a problem on their side of things.
Some posts on the internet suggest there's a magic 'software' setting somewhere in my account settings, but I have not been able to locate any such setting.
What's going on, and how do I fix it? Do I need to contact their customer support?
Edit: SOLUTION: The magic 'software' setting referred to in support postings is actually called 'Check for Audible Download Manager'. Unchecking it fixed the problem.
